Capgemini report: 25.3 million worldwide millionaires in 2025
A Capgemini World Wealth Report shows the global count of adults with investable assets over $1 million rose 7.9% in 2025 to 25.3 million, a new record. Total wealth held by this group reached $98.3 trillion, up 8.7% and marking the fastest annual rise since 2018.
The surge was driven mainly by stock‑market gains linked to artificial‑intelligence developments. In the United States, the number of new millionaires jumped by 736,000 (9.2%), the largest absolute increase. Europe’s growth was modest, led by Luxembourg (+13.5%) and Germany (+11.1%). The Asia‑Pacific region posted the highest percentage rise at 9.4%, propelled by semiconductor booms in Japan and China.
Wealth remains highly concentrated: the richest 1% own 34.8% of the total millionaires’ wealth. The ultra‑rich—those with at least $30 million—totaled about 250,000 individuals, whose assets grew 9.7%.
