Capistrano to commemorate Giuseppe and Giovanni Lo Moro

The municipality of Capistrano is organizing a major event to commemorate Giuseppe and Giovanni Lo Moro, local citizens murdered by the 'Ndrangheta in an ambush on February 8, 1985. Giuseppe, an educational administrator, and his nineteen-year-old son Giovanni were killed by gunfire during a trip to Filadelfia.

The murders remain unsolved, a fact highlighted in the book ‘FORTE COME IL DOLORE’ by Doris Lo Moro, a magistrate, former deputy, and the daughter and sister of the victims. The local administration intends for the commemoration to serve as a symbol of legality and a lesson in honesty, aiming to foster values of civic responsibility and the rejection of organized crime within families, schools, and government institutions.
