Capital City Toy Run collects $8,000 in donations for Vancouver Island hospitals

The Capital City Toy Run, a philanthropic motorcycle tour through the Capital Region, collected approximately $8,000 worth of new, unwrapped toys and cash donations on Sunday, September 27.

Around 200 riders and several classic cars participated in the event, which began at Oak Bay Marina and concluded at the Victoria Flying Club near Victoria International Airport. The collected items will be handed over to Helmet Head Canada, an organization of motorcycle riders that distributes toys to hospital sites across Vancouver Island.

The donations are intended to support families receiving medical treatment at nearly two dozen hospital sites, including Jeneece Place in View Royal and the upcoming Jesse’s Place in Nanaimo.
