Capital One announces 30% transfer bonus to Japan Airlines

Capital One is offering a 30% transfer bonus for cardholders transferring miles to the Japan Airlines (JAL) Mileage Bank. This promotion, which runs through September 30, improves the standard transfer ratio of 1,000:750 to approximately 1,000:975.

Travelers can utilize this bonus to book various partner awards, including business class flights on airlines such as Emirates, American Airlines, and LATAM. For example, certain roundtrip business class routes, such as New York to Milan on Emirates, can be redeemed for 85,000 JAL miles.

Users should note specific program requirements: JAL miles expire after 36 months, and redemptions are generally limited to direct family members. While JAL typically requires accounts to be 60 days old before redemption, Capital One cardholders may be able to redeem miles within seven days of transfer.
