Capital Regional District expands recycling hubs to Oak Bay and Langford

The Capital Regional District (CRD) is expanding its ‘Beyond the Curb’ recycling drop-off program by opening new year-round hubs in Oak Bay and Langford. These locations join the existing hub in Colwood to provide residents with more convenient access to free disposal sites for materials not covered by standard curbside collection.

The Oak Bay hub is situated at the Cadboro Bay Road and Cranmore Road parking lot, while the Langford hub is located at the Westhills Bus Exchange near the YMCA-YWCA Westhills. The Colwood hub remains at the Colwood Exchange Park & Ride. All three hubs operate year-round on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Accepted materials include foam packaging, flexible plastics, cardboard, paper, mixed containers, glass, household batteries, lightbulbs, and various electronics such as laptops and phones. The program aims to divert recyclable materials from the Hartland Landfill and support a circular economy.
