CapitaLand Malaysia Trust reports Q2 earnings rise and sees no immediate US tariff impact
CapitaLand Malaysia Trust (CLMT) posted a distribution per unit of 1.29 sen for the second quarter ended 30 June 2026, a 9.3 % increase year‑on‑year. Revenue grew 6.3 % to RM123.1 million and net property income rose 12.5 % to RM77.4 million. Distributable income jumped 25.6 % to RM43.4 million and overall portfolio occupancy reached 94.4 %. Rental reversions across the retail portfolio were up 11.6 %.
Chief executive Yong Su‑Lin said the REIT does not anticipate any immediate effect from the United States’ new 10 % tariff on Malaysian exports, noting that tenant business operations and mall footfall remain unchanged. Head of investments Matthew Loh Woei Lieh added that long‑term leases on industrial and logistics assets shield the portfolio from short‑term tariff shifts. The trust will continue to monitor the situation.
