Capitán Montoya natural gas expansion project undergoes new survey

The Unión Vecinal Los Bohemios, in collaboration with the Municipality of San Rafael and the Las Paredes Delegation, has launched a survey to assess interest in a natural gas network expansion project for Capitán Montoya and surrounding areas.

The initiative aims to update a project originally developed approximately 10 to 12 years ago. While the initial plan targeted roughly 800 to 867 homes, recent population growth in the district suggests demand may significantly exceed those figures. The proposed infrastructure includes the construction of a pressure reduction chamber or regulatory plant located on Las Vírgenes street to supply current residents and accommodate future housing developments.

Interested residents can register at the Las Paredes municipal delegation on Federico Navazo street. The survey is intended to determine concrete demand and help officials decide whether to expand the scope of the project beyond the initial estimates. Budgets have already been requested from four companies, with Ecogas noted for its cooperation.
