Capivari woman arrested for attacking sister with hot water

A 20-year-old woman was arrested in Capivari, São Paulo, after allegedly throwing hot water on her 16-year-old sister during a dispute. The incident occurred in the São João Batista neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon.

According to reports from the Capivari Civil Guard and the victims' mother, the sisters engaged in a physical altercation following a disagreement. After the fight, the 16-year-old went to a residence at the back of the property to lie down. The suspect allegedly surprised her while she was in bed, throwing a container of hot water over her.

The teenager sustained burns to her neck and back and was transported by emergency services to the Santa Casa de Capivari emergency room. The suspect was also taken to the hospital for precautionary medical examinations before being taken to the Women's Defense Police Station (DDM) in Piracicaba, where the arrest was ratified. The suspect remains at the disposal of the justice system.
