Capo d'Orlando implements beach accessibility and urban renewal projects

Capo d'Orlando is undergoing various local redevelopment projects aimed at modernization and inclusivity. An initiative titled “Sosteniamoci, la spiaggia è per tutti” is utilizing regional funding of approximately €76,773, supplemented by municipal resources, to improve beach accessibility for individuals with motor disabilities and enhance coastal sustainability.

Simultaneously, the town has inaugurated a new pedestrian zone designed to improve the livability of the urban center. However, the project has faced criticism regarding its lack of green spaces. Observers noted that the design prioritizes paved surfaces over vegetation, which may conflict with climate adaptation goals such as reducing the urban heat island effect and increasing biodiversity.
