Capodimonte Hosts 2026 Optimist Italy Youth Sailing Trophy

Optimist sailing Capodimonte Lake Bolsena youth regatta 2026

The Club Nautico Capodimonte will host the third stage of the 2026 Optimist Italia Kinder Joy of Moving sailing competition from July 23‑25 on Lake Bolsena, Italy’s largest volcanic lake.

The regatta will feature 221 young sailors from across Italy—175 juniors aged 12‑15 (Division A) and 46 cadets aged 9‑11 (Division B)—along with their coaches, officials and families.

Organisers stress the event’s dual focus on competition and education, promoting values such as friendship and teamwork. National Optimist class coach Marcello Meringolo noted strong participation despite a busy calendar and highlighted the upcoming European Optimist Championship in Gdynia, Poland, beginning July 25.
