Caporal Fall dismissed from Senegal's ASP, pledges political response

Ousseynou Fall, known as “Caporal Fall,” was removed from his post as interim territorial controller of the Agency for Proximity Security Assistance (ASP) in the Centre‑West region of Thiès, Senegal. The dismissal was confirmed by the ASP’s general directorate under Captain Touré, and Fall described the decision as “purely political.”

In a statement, Fall said he would “respond in the respect of democratic rules and by political actions” and promised to detail the circumstances in the coming days. He affirmed his commitment to the Pastef‑Les Patriotes party, announcing he will focus on his political chronicles, the mass‑sale of party membership cards, and preparations for President Ousmane Sonko’s upcoming visit to Thiès.

Fall also thanked his family and colleagues, reiterating that “the functions pass, but the principles remain,” and indicated that his removal occurs amid a broader political rift between President Diomaye Faye and former prime minister Ousmane Sonko.
