Seventeen artists from six different countries gathered in Cappadocia for the International Turkic World Painters Meeting. The event, themed ‘The Common Canvas of the Turkic World: Cappadocia’, brought together painters from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey.
The gathering commenced with a ceremony at the historic Nevşehir Virgin Mary Church. Following the opening, artists met at the Nevşehir Castle in Kayaşehir to capture the region's unique natural and historical landscapes on canvas. The participants focused on depicting the area's valleys, fairy chimneys, rock formations, and historical structures.
Turkmenistani painter Jeyran Umarova expressed her admiration for the region, noting that the historical and natural beauty of Cappadocia served as a profound source of inspiration. She highlighted the opportunity to connect with fellow artists and exchange various painting techniques during the event.
