Cappadocia Literature Meetings begin in Nevşehir

The 6th annual Cappadocia Literature Meetings have commenced in Nevşehir, Turkey, under the theme of ‘Vefa’ (Loyalty/Faithfulness). Held at the Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University (NEVÜ) Governor Şinasi Kuş Congress and Culture Center, the event brings together various writers and literary figures.

During the opening, NEVÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Semih Aktekin emphasized the importance of literature in preserving culture, noting that figures such as Hacı Bektaş Veli, Mevlana, and Yunus Emre expressed their profound philosophical and theological ideas through poetry and art. He likened the necessity of these figures to Shakespeare in English culture or Tolstoy in Russian culture.

The program includes a music recital by musician and author Sezer Ortadağ, the opening of a painting exhibition, and performances featuring literary narratives by organizers Saliha Demir and Serhan Kansu. The event also features workshops, book signings, and discussions focused on both adult and children's literature.
