Capricorn Group faces insolvency in Germany

The Dusseldorf-based automotive specialist Capricorn is fighting for survival after a preliminary insolvency administrator took control of two core entities: Capricorn Holding GmbH and Capricorn Composite GmbH.

With approximately 500 employees, the company specializes in lightweight automotive components and motorsport parts. Its client list includes major manufacturers such as Porsche, Lamborghini, and Bugatti, as well as Formula 1 racing teams.

Managing Director Robertino Wild described the insolvency as a shock. The preliminary administrator, Dirk Andres of the firm AndresPartner, intends to maintain normal business operations initially while seeking an investor to stabilize the company. The future of the company's planned 01 Zagato hypercar, which was intended to be produced in a limited run of 19 units, remains uncertain as the focus shifts to stabilizing daily operations and managing employee insolvency payments.
