Capricorn Group invests N$29.3m in social initiatives
The Capricorn Group and the Capricorn Foundation have released their 2026 Social Value Report, detailing an investment of N$29.3 million in corporate social investment (CSI) and sponsorships across Namibia and Botswana during the 2026 financial year.
The Capricorn Foundation, supported by Bank Windhoek, Capricorn Asset Management, and Entrepo, contributed N$14.1 million toward programs in education, training, economic advancement, health, and sustainability. Since its inception in 2020, the Foundation has invested a total of N$56.7 million in community initiatives. Key outcomes from the reported period include providing regular meals to 11,392 people, supporting 35,000 children with early childhood development materials, and training 800 rural artisans.
Industry leaders are emphasizing a shift in the CSI landscape toward strategic collaboration. The upcoming launch of the CSI Mukopano platform in July 2026 aims to unite the corporate sector, civil society, and the public sector to move away from isolated efforts and toward coordinated, impact-driven investments that address national development priorities and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
