CAPS de Villa Italia brings health services to Santa Catalina

The CAPS de Villa Italia health center recently conducted a community outreach program in the Santa Catalina neighborhood to improve medical accessibility for local residents. The initiative provided various services, including weight and height measurements, blood pressure monitoring, glucose testing, and HIV testing.

Medical staff also provided vaccinations for both children and seniors, addressed consultations regarding chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and hypertension, and offered guidance on healthy nutrition and sexually transmitted diseases. The program aimed to support individuals who face difficulties traveling to central health facilities due to distance or lack of appointments. Additionally, there was a noted increase in community demand for mental health services during the session.
