Caps becomes first Western player inducted into League of Legends Hall of Legends
Riot Games has announced that Rasmus ‘Caps’ Winther will be the third inductee into the League of Legends Hall of Legends. The Danish mid laner, currently playing for G2 Esports, becomes the first Western player to receive this honor, joining previous inductees Lee ‘Faker’ Sanghyeok and Zi-Hao ‘Uzi’ Jian.
Caps is recognized for his significant impact on the European competitive scene, holding a record 17 LEC titles. His career highlights include reaching back-to-back World Championship finals with both Fnatic and G2 Esports, as well as winning the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational. Riot Games described him as a ‘beacon of hope’ whose legacy has reshaped Western expectations on the global stage.
A formal trophy presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place in Berlin on August 18. Additionally, an in-game commemorative event featuring a special event pass and unique cosmetic items is set to launch on September 10 to celebrate his career.
