Captain James Harris completes 144km ultramarathon for charity

Captain James Harris of the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers has completed a 144km (90 mile) overnight ultramarathon from Poole to Lympstone. The run, completed in 27 hours and 17 minutes, served as the final leg of a three-part endurance campaign supporting the charity Help for Heroes.

Running along the South West Coast Path, Harris covered approximately 3,714m of elevation. Despite nine months of preparation, he faced significant physical setbacks early in the run, including intense pain in his IT band and patella. Harris described the event as both a major physical and mental challenge.
