Captain Marco David Pirajón Montezuma killed in drone attack in Ocaña

Captain Marco David Pirajón Montezuma of the Colombian National Army was killed during an attack on the El Trapiche military canton in Ocaña, Norte de Santander. Preliminary reports indicate that armed groups, identified in related reports as the ELN, utilized drones equipped with explosives alongside rifle fire to carry out the assault.

Captain Pirajón Montezuma, who had recently been stationed at the 15th Infantry Battalion General Francisco de Paula Santander, died alongside two other military personnel. Following the incident, Abelardo De la Espriella contacted the officer's parents to offer condolences and a promise that the attack would not go unpunished. The military community and local authorities in Sogamoso and Sandoná have expressed profound grief over the loss of the officer.
