Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters released for multiple platforms

Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, the sequel to the 2020 title Rise of New Champions, has been released for Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Developed by Bandai Namco, the game moves away from realistic football simulations in favor of an action-oriented experience inspired by the popular anime and manga series.

The gameplay emphasizes spectacular moves, including exaggerated tackles, dribbles, and powerful shots that mimic anime sequences. Players can create custom characters to progress through a story mode inspired by the World Youth Arc. This mode allows players to develop their skills, join academies such as Sao Paulo in Brazil, and eventually compete for a spot on the Japanese youth national team.

Mechanically, the game utilizes a combo-like system where successful dribbles and actions build power gauges to trigger high-impact offensive moves. The experience is designed to capture the high-energy atmosphere of the anime, offering approximately 12 hours of content including training, online matches, and a deep story mode.
