Captiva potato named Best Potato 2026 at national contest

The Captiva variety from La Rinconada, Seville, was awarded the ‘Best Potato 2026’ title during the second National Potato Tasting Contest held in Xinzo de Limia. The event brought together nine different varieties from various Spanish territories, including Cádiz, Murcia, Valladolid, A Coruña, Ourense, Seville, the Basque Country, and Madrid, to compare quality and diversity through anonymous judging.

In conjunction with these agricultural celebrations, the Alimagro fair is also taking place in Xinzo de Limia. The event features agricultural machinery demonstrations and traditional culinary activities, such as the preparation of a giant potato tortilla. The festivities aim to highlight the importance of the potato crop to rural Spanish regions.
