Capua Airport completes runway works and receives expansion approval
The Oreste Salomone Airport in Capua has entered a new development phase following the completion of runway paving works and a positive outcome from the services conference regarding its expansion project. The development includes the construction of a new RAM Terminal to support Regional Air Mobility.
Supported by multi-million euro investments from Enac and Enac Servizi, the project features a newly paved 1,400-meter runway. Additional infrastructure planned includes new office buildings, technical support facilities, aircraft aprons, storage hangars, improved access roads, and fuel depots. The initiative aims to enhance the airport's role within the Campania regional airport system and the national network.
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Edoardo Rixi stated that the completed runway and project approval represent a concrete step toward a more integrated airport system. Enac Extraordinary Commissioner Carlo Mearelli noted that the airport is positioned to develop air-to-air connections and promote sustainable intermodality.
