Two dead in fatal crash on Argentina's Route 14 (Autovía Artigas)

A series of serious road accidents were reported across South America. In Argentina, a collision on the Autovía Gervasio Artigas (Route 14) at kilometre 240 involved a Renault Alaskan van and a Mercedes Benz truck, killing a 13‑year‑old girl and a 49‑year‑old woman and injuring the van driver and a 14‑year‑old girl. Emergency crews from several fire brigades, police and medical services rescued the trapped occupants and transported the injured to hospitals.

Other incidents included a vehicle overturning on Route 3 near Comodoro Rivadavia, leaving the driver hospitalized; a truck cabin detaching on Avenida López in Santa Fe without injuries; a multi‑vehicle crash on Avenida Pacheco in Mexico with no casualties; and a train‑station collision in Viña del Mar, Chile, that killed one woman and wounded five others. Authorities in each case launched investigations, secured the scenes, and cleared traffic after rescue operations.

Overall, the accidents caused at least two deaths, dozens of injuries and widespread traffic disruption, prompting coordinated emergency responses in the affected jurisdictions.
