Three Polish Citizens Killed in Czech D52 Highway Crash

A fatal multi‑vehicle collision occurred on the D52 highway near Pohořelice in the Czech Republic during the night of 31 July–1 August 2026. A car that had struck deer stopped, a second vehicle halted behind it, and a third vehicle struck the two stationary cars at high speed. The crash killed three Polish nationals – mother Patrycja, her son Hubert, and a family friend – while the father, Marcin, and a second child were seriously injured and taken to a hospital in Brno.

Polish authorities confirmed the victims' citizenship. A crowdfunding campaign was launched to cover funeral costs, medical treatment and rehabilitation for the surviving family members. Czech police continue to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident.
