Caraș-Severin County Council updates road modernization project

The Caraș-Severin County Council has moved forward with a project to modernize DJ 684, a road connecting Caraș-Severin with Timiș and Hunedoara counties. Following a recommendation from a technical-financial evaluation commission, the council clarified that the allocated funds—approximately 120.35 million lei—are specifically designated for the road sections located within Caraș-Severin, rather than the entire three-county project.

The total eligible value for the regional project across all three counties is 50 million euros. For the Caraș-Severin portion, the council is responsible for 64.29 million lei, which includes both non-eligible expenses and the required 2% local co-financing.

Additionally, the County Council has scheduled an ordinary meeting for October 28, 2026. The agenda includes proposals to grant the title of ‘Honorary Citizen of Caraș-Severin’ to Silviu-Iosif Oravițan and Ștefan Iovan.
