Caraș-Severin increases student commuting subsidies

The Caraș-Severin County Council has approved an increase in subsidies for commuting students for the 2026–2027 school year. The amount allocated for students who travel to a different locality for school and do not have access to public transport services will rise from 0.61 lei to 0.88 lei per kilometer.

This measure applies to distances between 1 and 50 kilometers. According to Council President Silviu Hurduzeu, the decision aims to provide more consistent financial support to families, particularly those in rural areas, who face significant costs for daily commuting to educational institutions.
