Carabineros de Chile honors senior non-commissioned officers
Carabineros de Chile held ceremonies across different regions to commemorate “Suboficial Mayor Day,” honoring personnel who have reached the highest rank in the institutional appointment scale.
In the Los Ríos Zone, General Carlos Contreras Torres presided over an event at the Valdivia Training School. The ceremony recognized both active and retired senior non-commissioned officers for their commitment to the institution and the community. Several officers received commemorative awards, while ten others were distinguished with the “Honor y Lealtad” medal for 30 years of service.
In the Tarapacá Region, General Adrián Andrades led a similar ceremony at the First Police Station in Iquique. The event included the promotion of new senior non-commissioned officers and the presentation of the “Honor y Lealtad” medal to those with three decades of service. The ceremony also honored retiring officers, acknowledging their role as a vital link between command and subordinate personnel.
