Carabineros de Chile time capsule visits Coquimbo Region

The Carabineros de Chile time capsule is traveling through the communes of the Coquimbo Region to collect photographs, testimonies, and messages from local residents. The device is scheduled to remain in the area for at least fifteen days, starting Friday, August 28.

The initiative aims to preserve historical legacies for future generations. The capsule is intended to be opened on April 27, 2127, to mark the 200th anniversary of the institution. The project began on April 27 at the Carabineros School in Providencia, where President José Antonio Kast, along with former presidents Eduardo Frei and Gabriel Boric, deposited the first documents, including a testimonial act and a book titled ‘Breve Historia de la Función Policial en Chile’.
