Carabineros de Chile updates admission requirements for police academy
Carabineros de Chile has announced modifications to the admission requirements for the Escuela de Carabineros, following the implementation of Decree No. 88 from the Ministry of Public Security.
A key change is the expansion of the eligible age range, which now allows individuals between 17 and 30 years old to apply. Applicants who are 17 years old must have completed high school and taken the Higher Education Admission Test (PAES).
The deadline for the 2027 admission process has been extended to August 31, 2026, at 23:59 hours. Interested candidates must register exclusively through the official Carabineros de Chile Single Application Platform. Other requirements include being Chilean, single, meeting minimum height standards, and possessing a compatible health condition.
