Carabinieri and FADOI launch 'One Tree for Health' initiative in Italian hospitals
The Arma dei Carabinieri Biodiversity Group and the Federation of Associations of Internal Medicine Hospital Managers (FADOI) are conducting the fourth edition of the national 'One Tree for Health' initiative. The project involves planting trees at thirty selected healthcare facilities across Italy to symbolize the connection between ecosystem health and human well-being.
In Agrigento, the local health authority (ASP) hosted events at the Barone Lombardo Hospital in Canicattì, featuring debates on the 'One Health' concept and the planting of a tree to aid in carbon dioxide reduction. Similarly, in Avezzano, a ceremony was held at the local hospital to promote environmental protection as an integral part of health prevention strategies.
Through the collaboration between Carabinieri biodiversity units and FADOI, 100 trees were planted in Italian hospitals between 2023 and 2025. The initiative aims to sensitize healthcare professionals, patients, and citizens to the necessity of environmental stewardship in promoting collective public health.
