Carabinieri arrest individuals following supermarket and mall thefts in Italy

Italian authorities have arrested individuals following separate theft incidents in Bagnolo and Maida.

In Bagnolo, three individuals—two women and one man—attempted to steal 165 euros worth of chocolate from a supermarket. During the incident, the store manager was shoved while attempting to block their exit. The suspects fled in a vehicle but were intercepted by Carabinieri on the Pandinese road. A search of the vehicle uncovered 800 euros worth of cosmetics and food of unknown origin. Two suspects were arrested for improper robbery, while others faced charges for receiving stolen goods. The arrests were validated by a judge in Cremona.

In Maida, at the Due Mari shopping center, a man was arrested following an attempted theft at a perfumery. The suspect, identified as a Georgian national, was recognized by a manager as a participant in a previous theft involving 2,000 euros worth of products. After a pursuit involving mall security and Carabinieri, the suspect was apprehended near a gas station. During the arrest, the individual resisted and struck an officer. Police recovered a bag containing 450 euros worth of perfume and a handmade metal pouch designed to shield merchandise from anti-theft systems.
