Carabinieri arrest two men in Bergamo province over domestic violence threats

The Carabinieri in the province of Bergamo arrested two brothers after separate incidents of severe domestic abuse.

On 11 June in Scanzorosciate, a 45‑year‑old man was detained for repeated death threats, intimidation calls and stalking of his sister, who reported the crimes under Italy’s “Codice Rosso” procedure.

On 13 June in Ponte San Pietro, a 51‑year‑old brother threatened his sister and elderly parents with a knife, injuring a minor nephew. Police recovered the weapon and charged him with family maltreatment, extortion and aggravated personal injury. Both arrests were validated by the judiciary; the younger brother received electronic monitoring at home, while the older brother was placed in pre‑trial detention.
