Carabinieri conduct safety inspections at Sicilian construction sites
The Carabinieri Labor Inspectorate Nucleus (NIL) conducted safety inspections at two construction sites in Bronte and Randazzo, resulting in legal referrals and administrative sanctions.
In Bronte, a 56-year-old business owner from Terme Vigliatore was reported to judicial authorities for failing to install necessary fall protections near openings and for lacking signage for road excavations. This individual received an administrative fine of 2,278 euros.
In Randazzo, a 67-year-old site owner was also referred to the authorities after inspectors found failures in site traffic management. The owner had failed to establish clear paths to separate pedestrian movement from mechanical machinery, violating safety protocols intended to ensure secure transit for people and vehicles.
