Carabinieri crackdown in Artena and Colleferro area leads to arrest and seven charges

Over a 48‑hour period, Carabinieri units from Colleferro conducted intensive checks across the towns of Artena, Colleferro, Valmontone and surrounding municipalities. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 44‑year‑old resident on financial‑crime charges dating back to 2009, with a six‑month custodial sentence imposed and home detention ordered.

Seven additional denunciations were filed: a 37‑year‑old caught with roughly 40 g of hashish and related cutting material, three men charged with illegal electricity theft after an abusive connection was discovered, a pensioner seized with a folding knife, and two drivers cited for blood‑alcohol levels well above the legal limit. Police also seized drug quantities, including hashish, marijuana and small amounts of cocaine, and reported six youths for narcotics possession.

The coordinated patrols involved stations in Valmontone, Colleferro, Artena, Labico, Montelanico, Segni and Carpineto Romano, supported by a mobile operational unit. Authorities described the effort as part of a broader strategy to strengthen security in high‑traffic areas of Rome’s southeast quadrant, where nightlife and commerce can foster illicit activity.
