Carabinieri in Palermo awarded for major investigative operations

The Carabinieri Provincial Command in Palermo held a ceremony to award 18 commendations to personnel for exceptional investigative work. The honors, granted by Division General Ubaldo Del Monaco, were presented by Brigadier General Luciano Magrini to members of the Provincial Command's Investigative Nucleus and the Piazza Verdi Company's Operational Nucleus.

The awards recognize three major operations that resulted in 38 precautionary measures. These include the identification of the individual responsible for the murder of Giuseppe Incontrera, ‘Operation Fairo’—which targeted a drug trafficking organization in the Ballarò district and led to 25 precautionary measures—and a joint investigation with the Penitentiary Police. The latter operation resulted in 12 precautionary measures against a group, including inmates at Pagliarelli prison, specialized in smuggling drugs and mobile phones into the facility.

The ceremony also served as a farewell to General Magrini, who is transferring to Rome.
