Carabinieri intensify patrols in Calabria, arrest two for chicken theft and illegal electricity hookup

The Carabinieri units in Roccabernarda and Petilia Policastro, Calabria, identified and charged two individuals in separate incidents as part of a reinforced territorial control operation. In Roccabernarda, a man was accused of entering a private property on 17 July and stealing twelve chickens; video‑surveillance footage helped pinpoint the suspect, who was referred to the judicial authority. In Petilia Policastro, Carabinieri working with E‑Distribuzione technicians discovered an illegal bypass on a residential electricity supply, seized the tampering device and also referred the responsible party to the prosecutor. Both actions are part of the Carabinieri’s broader prevention and contrast programme against property‑related crimes.
