Carabinieri launch bicycle patrols in Montecatini Terme

The Carabinieri Company of Montecatini Terme has launched a new bicycle patrol service to increase its presence in the city. Utilizing electric-assist bicycles, the initiative aims to provide more agile and versatile monitoring in areas that are difficult for traditional vehicles to access, such as pedestrian zones, parks, and green spaces.

The service debuted on a Sunday morning, focusing on the urban center and the Pineta area, which experience high volumes of both residents and tourists. Beyond increasing surveillance, the program is designed to foster closer contact between law enforcement and the community, making officers more accessible for dialogue and assistance.

This new method of patrolling is intended to complement existing traditional services rather than replace them. It specifically targets the prevention of micro-criminality and urban decay while maintaining a zero-environmental impact, aligning with the city's landscape and sustainability goals.
