Carabinieri recover stolen jewelry worth 24,000 euros from elderly victims

The Carabinieri of the Sacile Company have successfully recovered approximately 24,000 euros worth of stolen jewelry from two elderly women in the Pordenone region. The recovery follows an investigation into a fraud scheme that occurred in August, where a 21-year-old man and his accomplices used a fake police officer tactic to target ten elderly residents across several locations, including Fiume Veneto and Roveredo in Piano.

One victim, an 82-year-old woman residing in a healthcare facility, was able to reclaim sentimental items, including her late husband’s wedding ring. Captain Camilla Bernacchini personally delivered the items to her. A second victim, a 75-year-old woman from Roveredo in Piano, also recovered her stolen gold jewelry at the police station. The restitution was carried out under the delegation of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Pordenone.
