Carabinieri report multiple environmental crimes in Avellino
The Carabinieri have conducted several operations in the Avellino province to combat environmental crimes and safety violations.
In Frignano, authorities seized approximately five cubic meters of non-hazardous special waste, including construction debris, metal, plastic, and wood, from a 100-square-meter plot of land. Five individuals, including residents of Arezzo, have been reported to judicial authorities for the alleged illegal management of these materials. The area has been placed under criminal seizure to allow for further investigation.
Additional enforcement actions in the region included the reporting of a 50-year-old individual in Summonte for the illegal burning of plant residues during a high-risk period for forest fires. In Montella, two entrepreneurs were reported for workplace safety violations at a construction site due to a lack of required fencing and railings. Furthermore, in Torella dei Lombardi, a business owner was reported for the illegal discharge of industrial and rainwater waste directly onto the soil without a proper collection or treatment system.
