Carabinieri rescue postal worker after sudden illness in Martina Franca
A Poste Italiane employee collapsed from a sudden illness while alone in a single‑operator post office in Martina Franca, province of Taranto. Two Carabinieri on patrol noticed the lack of activity, stopped to investigate, found the woman on the floor and immediately called emergency services. An ambulance arrived and the employee was taken for care. Union representative Giuseppe Manfuso of the Uil Fpl Poste said the soldiers' swift action "avoided the worst" and praised their sense of duty and sensitivity.
The employee is expected to recover, and the incident highlighted the importance of vigilance by law‑enforcement personnel even in routine situations.
