Carabinieri rescue woman from Catania overpass
On 19 July 2026 the Carabinieri Radiomobile unit of the Gravina di Catania company responded to an emergency call reporting a young woman on the overpass of via Galileo Galilei in San Gregorio, Catania, Italy. Within minutes the patrol reached the site, found the woman beyond the safety railing, and, after establishing contact, safely secured her and brought her down. She was handed over to emergency medical staff and transferred to a hospital for treatment. The incident underscores the Carabinieri's broader role in protecting life, including the use of specially trained negotiators for high‑stress situations such as suicide attempts.
