Carabinieri save young woman from suicide in Licodia Eubea

Carabinieri officers in Licodia Eubea successfully prevented a young woman from committing suicide after she sat on a second-floor window of a reception facility with her feet hanging over the edge.

The emergency began when a facility worker alerted the Carabinieri Operations Center. The situation was complicated by a previous distress call made by the woman to the Caltagirone Hospital, during which she expressed her intent to end her life before abruptly hanging up without providing her location.

While a patrol was dispatched to the scene and medical services were requested, an operator from the Operations Center maintained a continuous telephone dialogue with the woman. Through active listening and emotional support, the officer was able to build trust and persuade her to desist from the act until officers arrived on-site.
