Carabinieri seize illegal weapons in Vibonese towns after domestic threats

The Carabinieri conducted three separate operations in the Vibonese area of Calabria—Filandari, Acquaro and Mileto—resulting in the precautionary seizure of firearms and ammunition and the filing of criminal complaints.

In Filandari, a man was charged with illegal possession of a rifle and a pistol after his licence had expired; the weapons and about 90 cartridges were confiscated. In Acquaro, authorities responded to a domestic‑violence case, withdrew the suspect’s firearms and activated the “Codice Rosso” protection procedures for the victim. In Mileto, a man was accused of aggravated threats against his brother, and his legally held weapons and ammunition were similarly seized. Investigations remain ongoing.

The operations underscore the Carabinieri’s focus on enforcing weapons regulations and protecting victims of family violence.
