Carabobo Police arrest alleged gang leader with rifle ammunition

Carabobo State Police arrested Leonardo José Chávez Jiménez, known as ‘El Leito’, in the Juan José Mora municipality of Venezuela. The 19-year-old is allegedly the third-in-command of the organized crime group known as ‘El Cabito’.

The arrest occurred during a preventive patrol in the Covetra neighborhood. Police reported that the suspect attempted to flee upon noticing patrol units, prompting officers to intercept him. During a body search, authorities discovered 85 rifle cartridges hidden inside two socks located in the suspect's shorts pockets.

Chávez Jiménez and the seized ammunition have been transferred to the Juan José Mora Police Station and placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry to proceed with legal investigations.
