Caracas fires damage vehicles and force evacuations

Multiple fires have been reported in Caracas, Venezuela, affecting different sectors of the city.

In the 23 de Enero parish of the Libertador municipality, a fire broke out at an automotive workshop on Sucre Avenue. The blaze affected a 300-square-meter warehouse, damaging approximately 15 vehicles—12 directly and three indirectly. The Caracas Fire Department managed to control the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and an investigation into the cause is underway.

In the El Cementerio sector, an intense fire occurred in a commercial building on the main avenue. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. Emergency services, including the Caracas Fire Department and Civil Protection Libertador, conducted a preventive evacuation of between 30 and 70 people, as well as several pets from a nearby residential building.
