Bogotá Metro projects progress as Venecia bridges near completion

The Instituto de Desarrollo Urbano (IDU) announced that the public tender for four segments of the "Nueva 13" corridor was declared desierta after no bids were received, but officials said funding remains secured and construction will continue.

The Venecia bridges on Avenida 68 have reached 96.71% completion, with static load tests scheduled in the coming weeks. IDU director Orlando Molano said, "Dentro de muy poco ya tendremos habilitada la paralela al costado sur de los puentes, eso nos va a ayudar a descongestionar parte de los vehículos…".

Empresa Metro de Bogotá imposed a sanction of more than 358 million Colombian pesos on the contractor for the Ciudad Kennedy station after work lagged, prompting criticism from councilor Samir Bedoya: "Hoy, tres meses después de ese informe, la Empresa Metro confirma lo que veníamos advirtiendo…".

Additional works include a full closure of Calle 19 at Avenida Caracas for viaduct construction, scheduled for a month starting 30 July, and the launch of a digital‑twin platform to simulate operations and support decision‑making before the first train runs.
