Caraguatatuba lifeguard training concludes October 16

The training course for 36 temporary lifeguards for the 2026/2027 summer season in Caraguatatuba is scheduled to conclude on October 16. The trainees, selected through a simplified selection process, are undergoing instruction at the Martim de Sá Beach Maritime Fire Station.

The curriculum includes oceanography, drowning treatment and recovery, marine animal accidents, and operational communication. Following the training, candidates will undergo classification exams on October 16 to determine final results, with grades adjusted for disciplinary issues or absences.

Approved lifeguards will work for a 154-day period starting October 29, 2026, through March 31, 2027. They will operate under the supervision of the Maritime Firefighters Group (GBMar) with a weekly workload of 40 hours or a 12h/36h shift rotation, receiving a salary of R$ 2,169.89 plus benefits.
