Carbon Neutral Fuels and Energy Estate to explore Queensland SAF project

Carbon Neutral Fuels (CNF) and Energy Estate have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore the development of a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) project in North Queensland, Australia. The agreement, signed in London, involves Energy Estate subsidiary BioNQ Developments.

The collaboration aims to evaluate the potential for producing SAF using sugarcane agricultural waste as feedstock. The companies will assess feedstock supply, site selection, technology pathways, and offtake opportunities. This initiative builds upon a prior strategic affiliation between Energy Estate and Queensland Cane Agriculture and Renewables to advance the BioNQ Project.

CNF intends to use its experience from the UK and European low-carbon liquid fuel markets to support Australia’s fuel security and upcoming mandate targets. Energy Estate noted that North Queensland is well-positioned to harness abundant feedstock and unlock new resources through infrastructure investment.
