Carcassonne modernizes waste collection with underground containers

The city of Carcassonne has completed the installation of underground waste containers to modernize its urban services. In partnership with the COVALDEM 11 intercommunal syndicate, new collection systems have been implemented on Avenue Léon Blum and Avenue Louis Blériot.

Under a ten-year agreement, the municipality covered the costs for roadworks and equipment acquisition, while COVALDEM 11 will manage long-term maintenance and regular waste collection. The initiative aims to improve hygiene, reduce visual pollution, and optimize public space management.
