Card Factory revenue rises 5.3% despite UK consumer pressure

Card Factory reported a 5.3% increase in group revenue to £260.8 million for the six months ending July 31, 2026, despite facing significant pressure on UK consumer spending. While total store sales declined by 0.7% and like-for-like sales fell by 2%, the retailer saw strong growth in other areas.

Digital sales rose by £12.8 million, bolstered by the acquisition of Funky Pigeon. The company also experienced a 24.3% increase in total sales within its Republic of Ireland stores. Additionally, wholesale sales grew by 13.6%, supported by partnerships with Aldi, The Reject Shop, and Garlanna.

Adjusted profit before tax saw a slight year-on-year decrease of 3.8%, falling to £12.7 million from £13.2 million. Chief Executive Darcy Willson-Rymer noted that improved store profitability and disciplined working capital management helped deliver strong free cash flow, moving from an outflow to an inflow of £0.8 million. The company remains focused on diversifying its celebrations business and strengthening its store estate.
